Dig Deep Farms combines food equity, anti-recidivism, job creation and access to organically grown food for communities who face systemic barriers to healthy options and employment. DSAL creates an integrated food collective that ensures the livelihood of our most vulnerable communities and provides a pathway toward family-supporting employment.
Dig Deep Farms operates four urban farms that add brightness and life to an otherwise drab commercial corridor. We're developing a third on the grounds of the Alameda Juvenile Detention center and a fourth in Union City. Dig Deep Farms Interns, re-entering society after incarceration and help grow our food while learning work skills and earning permaculture certificates. We deliver our produce to our Food as Medicine "Farmacy" through partnerships with local clinics. We are building a food hub that will provide job and entrepreneurship opportunities for local residents.
