Goal

As many of you know, our rescue has taken in 15 dogs the past 30 days including the 7 released by a breeder. After 6.5 days in rescue, Dala, a breeder release, started to leak non stop diarrhea. She was taken to the er on Sunday. They admitted her and she is currently in ICU. They did an ultra sound today and found that she has a mucus seal around her gall bladder. The technical term is a gallbladder mucocele. It is the distention of the gallbladder by an inappropriate accumulation of mucus. The good news is this was caught  before she had any other symptoms. If this was caught later, her gall bladder could have ruptured and it would NOT be a good prognosis. This is a very delicate surgery and we pray there are no complications and that she does not end up with bile duct blockages that would make this more complicated. The surgery has to be done by a specialist and if surgery goes well, without complications, they will spay her at the same time. The plan is, if she is doing well under anesthesia, they will also remove the mass cell tumor as well. Her much needed dental will be at a later date. If they can't do the mass cell tumor removal when they are doing the other surgeries, that will be done when she has a dental later. Surgery will be this Tuesday afternoon, 2.11.20.

She is in good spirits and  is getting a lot of love in the ICU.

Her vet bill so far is $2,500, surgery will be an additional $6,500 to $7,500 if they just are able to remove the gall bladder or  $7,500 to $8,500 if they are able to remove the gall bladder, spay and tumor removal. We have approved the surgery and would love everyone's good thoughts and prayers for this sweet girl. If you can give a donation, any amount will be much appreciated and so helpful. As we said, we are dedicated to saving her life and the vets have the go ahead. Go Dala!

We will post updates as we get them.

Please consider a donation of any kind. Help us help Dala. She is just the sweetest girl and deserves the best care possible, especially after being a breeder girl for all of her life so far. Thank you so much!
