The ÅrÄ«mad-BhÄgavatam PurÄį¹a was compiled by the great sage ÅrÄ«la VyÄsadeva, who is considered the literary incarnation of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, ÅrÄ« Krishna. It is the natural commentary on the VedÄnta-sÅ«tra and is non-different from ÅrÄ« Krishna Himself. Thus, it is the very essence of all Vedic literature. Beginning with the definition of the Absolute Truth, the ÅrÄ«mad-BhÄgavatam gradually develops into the highest realization of Godāpure loving devotional service to ÅrÄ« Krishna.
It comprises 18,000 Sanskrit verses with English translations and purports.
Arranged in 12 cantos and 18 volumes.
