American Friends of the National Museum of the Royal Navy
The American Friends of the National Museum of the Royal Navy raises funds to support education and preservation efforts at the National Museum of the Royal Navy in the United Kingdom, and to promote the special relationship between our two countries and navies.
Funds raised through your donations will support the preservation of the Museum’s historic naval fleet, including HMS VICTORY - the oldest navy ship in commission and Lord Nelson's flagship at the Battle of Trafalgar.
"It is upon the Navy, under the good providence of God, that the Wealth, Prosperity and peace of these Islands and of the Empire do mainly depend"
- Preamble to the Articles of War in the reign of Charles II
Some 380 years later, the National Museum of the Royal Navy came into being to tell the entire naval story, past present and future; the story of a Service that has literally sculpted the history, culture and the people of Great Britain.
