Goal

Grand Traverse County's Natural Education Reserve is a much loved parkland offering 7 miles of hiking trails through forest, marshes, and swamps around the Boardman-Ottaway River just a few miles south of downtown Traverse City.

Of the many trails on the Natural Education Reserve, the popular Sabin Loop Trail allows visitors of all ages to discover the waterways and woodlands along the Boardman-Ottaway River.

Thanks to the generousity of the Traverse City Track Club, GTCD received a $16,000 grant to replace a boardwalk on the Sabin Loop Trail as a part of the Discovery Boardwalk Project. The planned boardwalk replacement will span over 100 ft. of wetlands with viewing platforms on either end to accommodate interpretive activities and educational programming at the Boardman River Nature Center.

We invite you make a gift today to help us raise the remaining $16,000 to reach our $32,000 goal for the Discovery Boardwalk Project!

Gifts to the Grand Traverse Conservation District are tax deductible under section 170(c)(1) of the IRS code.
