Dignity for those Displaced...Again!

Goal

We’re heartbroken and in disbelief that Lebanon is under bombardment again with over 500,000 people already internally displaced. It feels unimaginable that people in Lebanon are being dragged into yet another conflict and forced to flee their homes once more.

Driving back from Syria just as the conflict escalated, we saw so many families at the border, visibly emotional and exhausted and it was a visceral reminder of just how quickly people’s lives are being turned upside down again.

We’re doing what we can to contribute to the emergency and relief efforts here. Our focus is ensuring that essential hygiene needs are met, giving displaced women & families one less thing to worry about. Given the strong taboos surrounding menstruation and the lack of prioritization of menstrual products, we want to make sure people can manage their periods with dignity, rather than being forced to resort to makeshift, unhealthy alternatives.

We are also continuing to employ our local production team (women from under-resourced communities), ensuring they maintain a steady income and a vital sense of purpose during these volatile times.

  • $12.45 (£9.50) provides a woman with reusable period pads that last 3 years.

  • $33.50 (£25.20) provides a baby with reusable diapers that last the entire diaper phase.

We’re grateful for any support in helping us bring reusable hygiene items to these displaced women and families. Thank you for helping in whatever way you can. It means the world to us and we’re so sorry and sad to be having to ask again.

Our Immediate Goal: Support 2,000 women and 500 babies in shelters.

Financial target: $41,650  (£31,950).
