DHP Camp Fund

Zip Lines! Crazy Skits! Horseback Riding in the Snow!  Rodeo! Just being Kids! These are some of the awesome things our residents get to experience for the first time when they go to camp for a week at Young Life Crooked Creek Ranch. Here are some quotes from kids who have gone to camp in prior years:

  •  “I was rodeo king--of course I could be King for a day.”

  • “This week was the best week of my life--never experienced anything like this!.)

  • “Can I go again? ” (Former residents continue to ask when they visit a year later)

  • “Thanks for making me go up the hike. I really appreciate you pushing me to do something I didn’t want to so we could spend time together.” (He actually said that!)

The beauty of nature and the relationships we have in this life call to something so much deeper inside of us. They are echoes of a voice that point to Jesus. Thumbprints from the creator. Our kids experience beauty and relationships while they are at the Dale House and especially while they are at camp. Our youth hear a powerful Gospel message without the distractions of real life to drown out the truth. The staff who have  the rare opportunity and privilege to go to camp are able to experience our kids genuinely inspect the Gospel message.  Conversations during and after camp are incredible.

“Jesus is a badass!” (Referring to how awesome he thinks Jesus is for giving up his life for us).

"I gave my life to Christ at camp--how will things be different? I hope they will be different"

“Maybe this is real. I need to think about it more.”

We are so excited for our residents to get to experience the fun that is camp. We are also thrilled that they will be given a chance to reflect, listen, receive, and respond to the Gospel and God’s great love in a very vulnerable way. This truly will be one of the best weeks of our youth’s lives. When former residents come back to visit they often talk about camp being one of the best memories of their lives.

Picture this… a DHP kid experiencing “the best week of their life” and you get an opportunity to be a part of it! So you might be thinking, what are you asking me to do? We want to invite you to financially and spiritually support this week for our kids.
