Do Good Health, crossing the finish line!
Construction has begun!
$75,000 HAS BEEN DONATED
ONLY $20,000 LEFT TO COMPLETE THE MEDICAL CENTER
Who we are
The mission of Do Good Health is simple: build medical centers in rural underserved communities in Rwanda. Once a medical center is up and running, the Rwanda Ministry of Health, rated among the best in Africa, will come in and operate it, providing the highest possible level of sustainability. Where we are
This time last year, Do Good Health was just breaking out the drawing board of ideas for building a medical center in a community in Rutsiro, Rwanda. Now, a year later, we would like to present the start of construction for our first ever medical center, which will serve as the health-care hub for a community that without it has a 20 hour walk to the nearest care. We repeat, the shovel is in the ground! We have successfully raised $75,000 of the $95,000 required for our medical center. We are one step closer to being part of the Rwandan Ministry of Health's bold, long-term plan to bring health-care to thousands of rural communities. Check out pictures of the construction process below:
At $75,000, our funding goal to have the medical center operational has been reached. Now, construction of external and ancillary services, such as a large community wash room, bathrooms, and community water cisterns, is our focus (see red circles below). Come July, the Rwandan people will not only have a place to heal, but a place that promotes good health, specifically water, sanitation, and hygiene practice, in the community. Donations toward this remaining goal $20,000 will directly contribute to the incredibly important health promoting ancillary services of the first ever Do Good Health Medical Center.
Will you help us cross the finish line?
