Devastating Fire!
Burnt Mitzvah Tank!
One of Rabbi Yehuda Pevzner's Mitzvah Tanks, operating in Manhattan along with a number of such tanks, was almost completely burned down due to a fire that broke out near the electrical cabinet of the tank, which caused a great deal of damage to the tank and all the contents inside.
The Mitzvah Tank was parked on one of the streets in the Crown Heights neighborhood, ready to set out in the morning.
Firefighters who quickly arrived at the scene extinguished the fire, and Rabbi Pevzner showed the police the source of the fire, the destruction, and the amount of damage. The police opened an investigation into the case, and a suspected arson attack is being investigated.
For those who recall, these tanks have suffered from anti-Semitic harassment in the past, on the streets of Manhattan, with someone spraying "Palestine" on the wall of the tank. Is this also an anti-Semitic case? Time will tell...
