Delivering a medevac car with Mission Ukraine (Dave & Ralph)

We are very pleased to report that this fundraiser has been completed. The funds raised were used to purchase two vehicles that are already performing their tasks at the front and saving lives! The funds were used for the purchase of vehicles, their conversion, repair and delivery.  Thank you for not standing aside and helping us support Ukrainian military medics.

On July 8^th 2024 we as part of a small team, drove a Mitsubishi pickup and a Mitsubishi Shogun the 1250 miles direct  from London to Lviv in Ukraine (via France, Belgium, Holland, Germany and Poland). The vehicles were funded by two Canadians in our team (Gerry and Michel) who had raised £13,000 in Montreal from their kith and kin. Gerry and Michel had already volunteered in Ukraine on a number of occasions and knew the value of what we were doing.

They continued our journey by driving the vehicles on from Lviv to Mykolaiv (a further 550 miles) in order for the vehicles to be converted into off-road ambulances. These ambulances will serve along the front line by bringing injured soldiers back to field hospitals quickly, supporting the Ukrainian fight against the Russian invasion.  

We are keen to repeat the success of our mission by funding and sourcing another two vehicles, this time from Manchester working with the ‘Mission Ukraine’ team.

'Mission Ukraine' is a joint operation by British and Ukrainian volunteers making a difference by delivering vital medical equipment and vehicles to Ukrainian units. Since the beginning of the war this project has sourced and converted over 40 4x4s into medevac off-road ambulances to transport injured soldiers away from the front lines. Given the tough terrain, standard ambulances are ineffective so there is a high demand for robust 4x4 medevac vehicles to provide fast and efficient evacuation from hard-to-reach areas.  

What will the funds be used for?

Your donations will be used to purchase the 4x4 vehicles and the costs of driving them into Ukraine plus the associated cost of converting them into an ambulance.
