Dear DeLaveaga Elementary School Families, 


We are excited to welcome you to the 2026-27 school year and invite you to participate in our Annual Pledge Drive! 


Last year we raised over $57,000 to support our students, staff, and the DeLaveaga Elementary School community, and this year we have set a goal of $60,000, as our student population continues to grow!


The largest elementary school in the SCCS District, Delaveaga has recently been recognized as a California Distinguished School for exceptional student achievement. We have a diverse school community. Nearly 30% of our families are eligible for free & reduced price lunches. 


With the expiration of pandemic-era grants our schools and students need our support more than ever. 

We are asking families to consider making a donation of $300 per student, or $500 for families of two or more students. If you are able, please increase the amount of your donation to help cover for the families that are unable to contribute during these challenging economic times. 


This year's pledge drive runs through September 8th. We will follow up with you three more times between now and September 8th with a reminder to give. In addition to reaching our $60,000 fundraising goal, we would also like to see at least 50% of our student and family community participate. Please know that a donation of any amount is greatly appreciated, especially as we work to reach this participation goal!



Your gift will directly support:


  • Students – Graduation activities, playground improvements, student assemblies, student council, and subsidized yearbooks for low-income students, are all supported with Pledge Drive funds. 


  • Staff – Our incredible library, Life Lab, yard duty, educational support, classroom supplies (“teacher grants”), and front office staff are partially funded with resources from this Pledge Drive. Our school relies on your contributions to make it an amazing place for our children.


  • Community – Bike to School Day, the Holiday Parade, Carnival, Walk-A-Thon, and other community events all rely on funds from this Pledge Drive. These fun, educational events are what make DeLaveaga such a special place for our kids to learn and grow.
