Support Miles for Migraine Programming in Memory of Debbie Golaszewski
Debbie was a life-long sufferer of migraines, and therefore an avid supporter of this cause. Over the years she was involved with Miles for Migraine, including the 5k race in Philadelphia. She, her sons Richie and Jesse, and other family and friends ran the race alongside her multiple times (in varying temperatures and climates, including in the pouring rain).
Why should you consider making a donation to Miles for Migraine? Migraine is a disease is that is underfunded in the research arena, and misunderstood by most of the public. This scenario is the result of social stigma. Most people believe that migraine is 'just a bad headache.' The reality is that migraine is a neurological disease that attacks the entire body with many other disabling symptoms and causes people to lose jobs, drop out of school, lose relationships and miss important moments of their life.
People with migraine and other headache disorders are afraid to discuss their plight with others because of the social stigma they experience. Our programs - walk/runs, support groups, and educational events for adults and children - are designed to help patients learn to advocate while also teaching them about treatment options. We provide support to help those affected and teach them how to advocate for themselves, while feeling supported in a like-minded community. We do this by holding live, patient-participatory events.
Your gift in memory of Debbie will be donated to support the free programs and services that Miles for Migraine offers to the community.

Debbie and I shared the birthday - we grew up and play together all our childhood. Her family was always so good to me. Rest in peace Debbie. Love, Cheri
