This year Steppingstone's Board of Young Professionals is fundraising to support college tours. Our goal on the Day of Giving is to raise $10,000 which would enable roughly 105 Scholars to attend, local, single-day, and overnight college visits. We hit this goal early in the day, let's see if we can make it to $15,000 to guarantee even more Scholars can take advantage of these valuable tours.
Thank you for considering a gift and for supporting the next generation of Scholars!
Steppingstone’s College Tour Philosophy: The goal of college tours—both single day and overnight—is to expose and inform Scholars about college campuses and structures through an experiential learning model. Steppingstone’s objective is to bring Scholars to see schools that, based on their location, are typically inaccessible or not easily accessible for them and their families. Additionally, Steppingstone aims to structure college visits in a way that aligns with Scholars' backgrounds as FGLI (first-generation, low-income) students.
Overnight Tours to colleges such as Worcester Polytechnic Institute, College of the Holy Cross, Union College, and Colgate University.
Single-Day Tours to colleges including Amherst College and the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Connecticut College, and Yale University.
Local Tours to colleges like Boston University, Harvard University, Northeastern University, Bridgewater State University and Boston College.
Steppingstone’s Board of Young Professionals (BYP) engages individuals in their 20s and 30s representing a variety of career fields to support Steppingstone’s mission of college success for students from historically marginalized communities. Members of the BYP are committed to advancing the efforts of Steppingstone through volunteering, fundraising, mentoring Scholars, and networking.
