Vote Samuel J. Dalfonso for Commissioner

Hi! I am Sam Dalfonso and I am running for Commissioner of Scott Township.

I will bring a fresh take on the issues Scott Township is facing while keeping in mind what made Scott Township a great place already. My background as a municipal solicitor has prepared me to take on the role of Commissioner. I have experience in handling many issues that our Township faces on a daily basis. Issues such as labor contract negotiations, updating police policy and procedures, planning and zoning concerns, and personnel concerns. 

Just as important, I will bring a good temperament to the Board. A good Commissioner needs to be reasonable when working with eight other individuals charged with making decisions for the Township. I am a very reasonable person and plan to listen to each of our Commissioners with an open mind, especially on issues I first seem to have a different opinion on. It's important to discuss and see all sides or opinions on a subject before making a decision that affects all of the Township. Each Commissioner has his or her own experiences that can provide a unique and perhaps even better perspective that I may have on a given issue, so it is important to give every opinion consideration. 

I am also realistic about how difficult it can actually be as a Commissioner. Working with eight other individuals who also are doing what they think is in the best interest of the Township can pose a number of different challenges. However, I believe that my experience working with Boards and Councils on a daily basis has given me an inside view as to the reality of the task and has prepared me to excel in this role. 

Being a Commissioner takes a lot of responsibility to ensure that you are making educated and informed decisions on behalf of the Township. As an attorney, I am responsible for making sure each of my clients are educated and informed on the matters before them. Whether it is a municipal client managing a personnel issue or an infrastructure problem or a private client faced with a lawsuit or criminal charges, it is my job to educate them on the applicable laws or regulations and help them reach the best possible outcome for their particular situation.
