Coded By the Culture — By Us, For Everyone

The Challenge
Only 19% of computer science degrees are earned by women, and less than 2% of tech roles are held by Black women. The drop-off starts early, between ages 13-17, when confidence is tested and access fades. Black Girls Code is changing that story.

Our Mission & Impact
We’re preparing  today’s learners to become tomorrow’s leaders—no matter their background, zip code, or identity.

Because of support from donors like you, BGC has reached over 40,000 students through live and virtual workshops, and inspired 8.5 million global learners through our award-winning Code Along YouTube series. Our programs spark curiosity in elementary school, build tech skills in middle and high school, and launch career pathways during and after college.

Your

Gift's Impact

Your donation doesn’t just help one girl. It fuels a movement. Every dollar helps expand access to hands-on learning, mentorship, and career-building opportunities that equip BGC learners to lead in tech.

Support BGC Today

Your gift, no matter the size, makes a real difference in the lives of girls learning to rewrite the code for the future, built for everyone. Together, we can create spaces where more girls can see themselves, be themselves, and code as themselves. Click below to donate today!

Your support of Black Girls Code will help us broaden our impact in 2026 by:

  • Serving 10,000 students through virtual and in-person programs.

  • Deepening our programming and reach in key cities.

  • Growing our free Code Along video academy.

  • Offering more workshops that explore topics like entrepreneurship and AI.

  • Opening more doors for employment through our career-building programs.

  • Growing and expanding our curriculum offerings.

  • Opening after-school Code Clubs.

Let’s make this change together. Donate today.

Thank you for your support of Black Girls Code this holiday season!

I wish I had this growing up! Video games always surrounded me growing up but with little representation. I want kids to understand that to see themselves in the games they play, THEY can make the those games!
