Goal
Dear Sangha,
As 2025 nears its close, we reflect on this past year with deep gratitude— gratitude for the dedication and service of all the volunteers who help make our Center such a special place for our practice, for community and fellowship, and for the teachings that deepen our experience and understanding of the Dharma under the guidance of our precious teacher, Ven. Losang Samten.
There is much that goes on “behind the scenes” to ensure that we can continue to offer the warm and welcoming environment that supports us on the path of compassion and loving-kindness.
We would like to shine a light on the joyful effort and commitment of our leadership team, our Officers and Committee Chairs.
Each of them, along with many other volunteers, contributes time each week to ensure that our Dharma Center operates smoothly. A small snapshot of their service includes:
– Vicki Cahill, President, supervising all Center activities, our central hub of communication, coordinating volunteers, teachers, and schedules with grace and patience.
– Stephen Liu, Vice President and Chair of Facilities, ever ready with a kind heart, steady hands and wearing many hats, keeping our building prepared and welcoming for every gathering, giving his time every week with Losang to our neighboring church and their community food service.
– Co-Treasurers Soo Kyong Kim and Atul Govil, overseeing our financial records with careful attention and reliability, making sure the bills are paid on time and that our income and expenses are always balanced
– Ani Maitin, Secretary, tending to all our electronic records, our official record keeper of quarterly meetings, all done with diligence and care.
– Carol Seufert, along with Valentina Jeftic, warmly welcoming members and visitors to the Center, answering questions, and responding to their needs with kindness and attentiveness.
– Jen Jaynes, ensuring our website, newsletter, and all our technology keep us connected and informed (our master of Zoom!).
– Nancy Stinson, thoughtfully organizing and promoting events that support the mission of the Center.
We are also deeply grateful to our Senior Teachers and Instructors who step in when Losang is traveling, offering thoughtful, engaging teachings that inspire dialogue and deepen understanding—Floyd Platton, Elazar Aslan, Vimukti Aslan, Tony Boris, Vicki Cahill, Atul Govil, Jen Jaynes, Stephen Liu, Sr. Sharifa Vernice Meytung, Sue Passante, Bill Stauffer, Ken Klein and Barbara Montgomery.
Each act of service, every shared teaching, every moment of connection contributes to the living heart of our sangha.
It is this spirit of generosity and shared effort that keeps the Dharma alive and thriving here at the Chenrezig Tibetan Buddhist Center of Philadelphia.
As we enter the season of giving and close another year together, we invite you to join in this circle of generosity by contributing to our Annual Giving Fund. Your offering directly supports the continuation of teachings, the upkeep of our Center, and the many programs and community activities that nurture our shared path.
Our goal this year is $8,000. Whether large or small, every donation helps sustain the light of wisdom and compassion that we cherish together.
With heartfelt thanks for your continued support,
Ken Klein
