Information and Application
Why Join the CSVA?
The CSVA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit entity whose purpose is to provide aid to the public, to provide the CSVA with a forum in which to meet, converse, socialize, and share mutual aid, and to enhance the comradeship and welfare of the members of the CSVA and Douglas County Law Enforcement personnel.
The Trustees of the CSVA may include representatives of the Douglas County Community Safety Volunteers (CSVs), Lone Tree Volunteers in Policing, Castle Rock PD CSVs and the Douglas County Victim’s Advocacy Program. These Trustees typically meet monthly to administer the organization its finances.
The dues paid by the members of the CSVA are used solely for the purpose of building social ties between the members of the CSVA. The CSVA sponsors events like a summer family picnic, a holiday gathering in December. and celebrates special occasions within our organizations.
The CSVA also offers a uniform and equipment reimbursement program to its members. This helps reduce or eliminate costs to the volunteer for items not reimbursed by the agency. Approved items include 5.11 (or similar) pants, boots, flashlight, and leather goods used in the performance of volunteer duties. The cost of dues can be easily offset by this program.
About Joining the CSVA
Membership in the CSVA is voluntary. The criteria for joining is passing the eligibility requirements for your agency as outlined in the CSVA Bylaws. The annual dues are $25. New members are also asked to pay a one-time $50 initiation fee. The membership period follows the CSVA fiscal year and runs from October 1st to September 30th. New members who join after May 1st will be covered for the remainder of the current membership year and all of the following year through September 30th.
