Founded as Sea Shepherd UK in June 2005, we were one of the oldest established Sea Shepherd entities with our own campaigns, and most importantly fully independent (pre-dating 'Sea Shepherd Global' by over 8 years).
Then on the 18th of May 2023 our charity re-branded as the 'Captain Paul Watson Foundation UK' (CPWF UK) in order to make it totally clear that our loyalty is to our founder.
CPWF UK's campaigns include:
- Operation Bloody Fjords since 2016 working to stop the dolphin hunts in the Faroe Islands with a new initiative called 'Faroes Free' and the #BlubberButcher
- Op Ice Storm in Iceland since 2018 against all commercial whaling
- Op Silent Seal in Namibia since 2023 against the fur seal hunt
- Our Coastal Debris campaign and Ghostnet campaigns have merged and been expanded under one powerful new collaborative concept: Project One Wave. In partnership with Seashell, we’re building a growing wave of support. United in open collaborations we’re ready to multiply our impact because together, we are stronger! Project One Wave will be clearing debris from remote beaches using our boats and working on new ways with partners of recycling as much of that material as possible.
Our campaigns will continue to be solely for the benefit of marine animals, who are ‘our clients’. Our investigations will be followed by action, whether that be physical intervention, legal action, or both.
CPWF-UK will never be subject to restrictive agreements with governments. Our media and opinions will never be censored. And our crew (Neptune's Pirates) will go where they are needed - even if they are unwelcome.
So to everyone who has stayed with us on our voyage through these treacherous times and rough waters - you have our thanks!
If you can please do support our campaigns defending #whales #dolphins #seals and other marine life by donating to our charity here via Donorbox.
Many thanks!
