Your 2023 CPC pilgrims will hold a 24 HOUR WALK-A-THON to help raise awareness and financial support for our pilgrimage on the Camino de Santiago this summer. There will be pilgrims walking in shifts around CPC and the downtown Cary area for a full day—yes, a full day—keeping track of the miles we walk. We’ll walk two-hour loops around downtown Cary, stopping for fun activities like ice cream and sunset-watching! We’ll even walk our supporters to dinner. We'll also host a viewing of the movie "The Way" on the church grounds, so please join us before or after walking- popcorn will be provided! After the movie, we’ll confine our routes to the CPC parking lot. On Sunday morning, May 21st, we’ll be walking in and out of the worship service, giving the children’s sermon and benediction before leading everyone on a final lap around the parking lot!
Suggested Donations
$25: Walk with us (in person or in spirit!) Follow the link below to view our planned routes and meeting times. Each shift will begin either at CPC or at a new location in downtown Cary—lunch, ice cream, dinner, and we’ll even plan on watching the sunset and perhaps walking by Bond Brothers!
$75: Sponsor a walker for 3 hours! This is symbolic of the 75 miles we will walk in Spain on the Camino.
$150: A pilgrim of your choice will wear something crazy or do something silly for a shift of the walk. Maybe you want Todd Crouse to wear a Cardinals hat and a tutu, or maybe you think Alan Bancroft should walk the 3 am shift in his pajamas. When donating, comment your chosen “prize.”
$1,125: Golden Arrow donor. Your gift represents $1 per mile our pilgrim group of 15 will walk together on this 75 mile, centuries-old journey. We will be guided on our journey by the yellow arrows marking the way, just as we’ll be guided by the support of our donors back home.
In addition to our group's walk, both the indoor and outdoor labyrinth will be available for use if you are not able to join us would still like to walk in support.
You will be able to meet our group and join us on our walk at any of the listed times and locations. Our map is below for reference, and closer to the walk, we will share more detailed information on the route and our meet-up times and locations! If you plan on joining us for the walk, you will be able to donate in person as well.
