Goal
In these times of crisis, our organisation has decided to re-orient our resources in order to support our mentees. Normally, mentees receive individual and group mentorship through our Mentorship scheme, but as schools have now closed in Kenya, and as we need to be responsible and practice social distancing, that Scheme has been put on hold.
Our mentees come from underpriviledged backgrounds, living in areas of Nairobi where it is difficult to self-isolate. Many of their parents also depend on casual work, which will be difficult to obtain in the next few months. Nairobi is now under lock-down, with a curfew imposed from 7pm until 5am.
We aim to have our volunteers distribute baskets to the most vulnerable of our mentees, containing long-lasting food, masks, gloves, sanitizing gel, and sanitary pads for the girls. Your donations will help us to buy the contents of the baskets, and to pay for taxis for our volunteers, in order to avoid public transports.
Thank you all in advance for your tremendous support, on behalf of all of us, and of our mentees!
