Goal
After a difficult few years, The Bushwick Housing Independence Project (BHIP) is back and returning to our critical mission of organizing and building tenant power in Bushwick! We need your support to ensure we can continue to provide much-needed organizing, tenant education, outreach and more. Your support helps us to afford our staff expenses, a future office space, tenants rights materials and more!
Mission: BHIP is a grassroots community organization whose mission is to build the collective strength, stability, visibility and self-determination of Bushwick’s working class and immigrant renters. Please support tenant-led organizing in Brooklyn by donating today!

Ryan
Perhaps more than most communities, Bushwick desperately needs strong on-the-ground tenant organizing. Private equity and slumlords are operating relatively unchallenged while longtime tenants, primarily people of color, are forced to live in dilapidated, run down apartments. Tenants shouldn’t have to fend for themselves, and this is where BHIP comes in! BHIP can help build tenant power, improve housing conditions, and change the political and economic landscape in Bushwick so we can drive slumlords out and prevent further displacement. I’m happy to support BHIP now and into the future!
