Goal
PPBF is our charity of choice this year, but unfortunately, due to the recent pandemic, our fund raising efforts have been severely hampered so far. We usually have several employees who enter the Guernsey Half Marathon and thankfully this year it has been rescheduled to take place on Sunday 6 September. We therefore came up with the idea to put in a Collas Crill team and raise vital funds for PPBF at the same time.
PPBF was already a well known charity to many at Collas Crill but the charity recently helped one of our very own Senior Associates. On 12 October 2019 Gareth's daughter Zara Arielle was born at 24 weeks and 3 days weighing only 590 grams. Zara had a rough start to her life born so early, having chronic lung disease and numerous life-threatening infections with several genuine touch-and-go moments. With the much needed help of PPBF, Gareth and his wife were able to stay at Aggie's Burrow, a flat owned by PPBF which is within 200 steps of the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit at the Princess Ann Hospital in Southampton, where Zara spent the first 100 days of her life.
Zara is now 9 months old, loves her food and is very close to figuring out how to crawl so that she can chase after her big brother! No doubt you will be able to see her cheering on her dad on 6 September.
