Defend freedom of expression by supporting our new exiled writer-in-residence

Help us reach our goal of $50,000 to support our new writer

City of Asylum provides sanctuary to endangered literary writers, so that they can continue to write and their voices are not silenced.  At a time when freedom of expression is under increasing threat around the world, more writers than ever before are requesting help.  So we are excited to announce that in late April, 2019 we welcomed our 8th resident writer to Pittsburgh.

We need to raise $50,000 to provide long-term support (housing and stipend, medical and legal assistance, career development, translation and publishing) for each new writer joining City of Asylum. As a grassroots organization, we rely on the generosity of many donors like you to make our writer residency program possible.

Please help us welcome our newest writer and sustain our writer sanctuary program by making a donation today.
