The call to action:
San Francisco Black Community Matters is an official chartered club of the San Francisco Democratic Party. We are a growing membership organization that is responding to the call to action. Join us in our efforts to address the inequalities that impact many of our most vulnerable communities.
San Francisco’s Black and African American representation has declined to approximately 3% of the city’s population of nearly 1 million. Much of our former population of 17% has been socially and economically displaced. The remaining reside within the neighborhoods of Bayview-Hunters Point, Visitacion Valley, the Fillmore and we are scattered throughout the city.
