Climb Angola 2024 Fundraiser

Climb Angola is teaching Angolans to become climbers of their own rock, in partnership with the organization Climbing for a Reason. We’re developing new climbing routes, teaching youth and kids rock climbing and promoting adventure tourism across Angola. We're focusing in four locations in Angola: Pedras Negras, Conda, Sumbe and Lubango.

Community Projects

Alongside climbing, we're working closely with the local communities near the rocks. In Conda, we’re building a climbing wall at the Cumbira II Primary School. We'll also be working at the school on projects like building new bathrooms for the children to use, and installing solar panels for electricity. The community and kids are incredibly excited about rock climbing and the future potential for this little village.

We’re partnering with the Sawyer Foundation to enable access to clean drinking water in the village and building water tanks at the health clinic and primary school. We're teaching guiding, hospitality and trail building to allow the community to receive visiting climbers and participate in the budding adventure tourism economy.

We Need Your Help

Our budget for projects this year is $3,000. We've had tremendous support from climbing companies and brands in the US and Europe, donating climbing shoes, harnesses, ropes, climbing holds, chalk, bouldering pads, bolts and drills and many other types of gear. Help us share the stoke of climbing with the youth here and make a donation to the project. All donations are spent directly into the local economy, thanks to our sponsors providing the gear we're using. Your donation covers costs like food, transportation, workshops, events, building materials and small tools.

Getting Involved

Come visit Angola to climb and volunteer with us on community projects! Or make a tax-deductible donation to support the project. The best time to visit is between May and October, when the weather is more pleasant and there's less rain. In August, we're organizing the first ever Angola Climbing Festival, which is a great opportunity to see the country and hang out with other climbers. Follow the project on Instagram at @climbangola and our website climbangola.com.
