First Tee - Oakland Tournament and Fundraiser at Claremont Country Club
First Tee–Oakland is helping to level the playing field through evidence-based afterschool programs and strong mentorship.
Research shows that mentoring is one of the most significant contributors to fostering positive youth development-- positive self-esteem, stronger academic performance, and using good judgment. First Tee coaches and mentors help foster these protective factors by providing a consistent, supportive adult relationship that can build social skills, encourage positive decision-making, and help youth navigate challenges. Thus, they effectively act as a buffer against negative influences and promote healthy development.
First Tee—Oakland is one of 150 chapters in a national network. It is the only chapter in the U.S. that offers the program free of charge to all participants. The traditional pay-to-play model is a barrier to growth and development, and the lack of resources (or accessibility) has far-reaching implications for the quality of life for youth in the
Oakland Unified School District.
Our programs are creating GAME changers!!
Please join us for our First Tee - Oakland Golf Tournament and Fundraiser, held at
