Support Booth Tarkington Civic Theatre
For 110 years, Civic Theatre has been more than a place for entertainment; it’s a space where stories come alive, ideas are shared, and people connect in ways that no other art form can replicate. This connection has fostered generations of Civic alumni, many of whom began as children on our stages and now bring their own children to experience live theatre.
Our educational and outreach initiatives play a key role in cultivating this vibrant, intergenerational arts community. We’re proud to share that since 2020, our student matinee numbers have increased by an impressive 42%. This year alone, we reached a remarkable 6,833 students and teachers from grades 5 to 12. Notably, 1,135 students received free or reduced-price tickets thanks to the Civic Education Scholarship Fund, which aims to remove financial barriers and make theatre accessible to every child in our community.
As we commemorate 110 years, we envision a future where Civic Theatre continues to be a beacon of creativity and connection, fostering a love for the arts that spans generations. We can’t do this without your help.
Only half of our annual operating expenses are covered by ticket sales and class tuition. We rely on the generosity of our dedicated audience – individuals like you – to help bridge this financial gap. Monthly giving is crucial to sustaining these opportunities for over 50,000 community members each year.
