What Happened?  May 22, 2025, the Prescott Valley Town Council voted 5-2 to re-zone 19.23 acres located south of 89A, from “Residential; single family rural” lots to “Industrial General”. This highly controversial decision is NOT compliant with the 2022 Voter-approved 2035 General Plan Chapter 5.3.1. “… edge of town “Country” character area.”  The concern is the creation of a larger Industrial / Warehousing District in a long-established residential area.   

Citizens Quick Response: - In just 23 days (May 28^th – June 20^th ) many volunteers completed a very successful Petition Drive OPPOSING the re-zoning, thereby REQUIRING a Referendum be put on the 2026 Ballot so PV Voters can decide!  

Shockingly, despite the Valid Petition, we are being SUED for giving Voters a Voice! Plaintiff, Bruce Evans is a recently resigned, former Prescott Valley Planning and Zoning Commissioner. Now, acting as a private citizen in support of the “Industrial” re-zoning, he recently filed a Civil lawsuit against his neighbors, Citizens for Sensible Development (C4SD).  

Mr. Evans' goal is to overturn the Petition, thereby denying ALL affected PV citizens their Constitutional Right to Referendum AND their opportunity to Vote on this controversial re-zoning issue on the Nov. 2026 Ballot.

Your Help is Needed Now! This case could potentially affect all Arizonans, so we must act NOW!  This lawsuit is FORCING C4SD to raise funds from our friends and neighbors to hire an attorney to defend our rights in Court. (Who is funding Mr. Evans' lawsuit?)

  Save the Court Date:  Oct. 24, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. - Yavapai County Superior Court, 120 S. Cortez Street, Prescott. Concerned citizens’ attendance strongly encouraged.
