THE AFRICA AWEEE – CHRISTMAS TREE CHALLENGE
Help us bring healthy nutrition and lasting income to Bel Porto Special School. With only 15€ you can already plant a seed for change.
Background:
A project that lies particularly close to our hearts is the Bel Porto Special School in Landsdown, South Africa, for children with special needs. Together with our local partner "The Sprightly Seed" we are currently building a permaculture with an outdoor classroom and a large crop garden.
The goal of the project is to empower the pupils through a flourishing garden that generates income for the school, develops skills through hands on experience and creates a community space for learning.
Within the last months the first milestones have been accomplished: the irrigation has been installed and a brand new nursery has been built. Currently, the team on site is busy working on the outdoor classroom so children will be able to use it next year already.
The next important part is a little orchard with a variety of trees such as apple, banana, plum, nut trees and many more. With your support we want to plant reliable fruit trees, producing a delicious source of vitamins and income for a community in need.
