Chiswick Book Festival Online
The Chiswick Book Festival brings together top authors and their readers for a long weekend of history, biography, fiction, crime, thrillers, politics, the arts, fashion, children’s books and other genres. Now in its 12th year, it is a non-profit-making community event: any financial surplus is donated to St Michael & All Angels Church, which runs and hosts the event, and the Festival’s three charities:
– InterAct Stroke Support, which employs actors to provide a reading service for stroke patients at Charing Cross Hospital.
– Doorstep Library, which brings the magic of books into children’s homes in deprived parts of west London.
– The Felix Project, which collects surplus food from suppliers and redistributes it to charities and schools in London, to help reduce waste and relieve food poverty.
Due to the COVID-19 situation, we are holding the 2020 Festival online and there will be fewer events than usual. Sessions will be accessed via computers and mobile devices, using video, Zoom and podcasts. Read more about this year’s events and charities on the Festival website: www.chiswickbookfestival.net. The full programme will be published towards the end of August 2020.
We are keeping costs to an absolute minimum and mainly relying on donations and sponsorship for our income, rather than ticket sales. If you would normally have bought a few tickets, please feel free to be generous!
Thank you.
