Tomorrow, I turn 47, and if the past year has taught me anything, it’s that we are never alone. I’ve learned and experienced first hand the resistance and power of mutual care, and it has deepened my love, gratitude, and appreciation for this cherished community.


In times like these—when systems fail us, when inequities persist, when care feels out of reach—it is always community that shows up with hands and hearts open wide. It is in our solidarity that will create the future we dream of.  And that’s exactly why I’m asking for your support today.


In honor of my birthday, would you consider making a gift to the Chicago South Side Birth Center? We currently have a $2 for $1 match, up until $1MIL until April of this year. That means:

Your contribution goes directly to helping us build the first Black midwife-led birth center in Chicago and Illinois—one that will provide community focused, culturally centered reproductive health care for families on the South Side.
