The Chesaning Area Historical Society was first organized in 1984, and since that time has carried out its primary mission to discover and preserve the history of the village of Chesaning and the surrounding region of southwestern Saginaw County.

The Chesaning Historical Museum is located in what was originally St. John's Episcopal Church, a late-19th century church building that is located along the Boulevard in downtown Chesaning.

As a non-profit organization, the Chesaning Area Historical Society depends upon financial support from the community in order to achieve our mission.

The Chesaning Area Historical Society is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and contributions are tax-deductible for income, gift, and estate taxes.
