Local dentist Kevin “Heath” Bailey started this scholarship fund as a memorial to one of his teachers at Liberty High School. Charlene Stewart Hart was a math teacher and chair of the math department at Liberty where she taught for 22 years. She died in a tragic accident in June 2003. Dr. Bailey elected to establish this permanent memorial to a teacher who challenged her students to excel in academics and set high educational goals. Students and friends of the family continue to make memorial donations to this fund which will generate income for a scholarship for graduates of Liberty High School.
