Chardon Road Cemetery Renovation
Restore a Revolutionary War Veteran’s Cemetery by July 4, 2026
Hidden along Chardon Road in Willoughby Hills lies the neglected grave of Edward Halstead, a Revolutionary War veteran who stood watch along the Hudson River and helped secure our nation’s freedom. The Chardon Road Cemetery is in urgent need of restoration.
Our Mission
We are raising $50,000 to fully restore the cemetery by July 4, 2026—America’s 250th birthday. With your help, we will repair gravestones, improve the grounds, and preserve this historic resting place for future generations.
To celebrate the progress of this effort, we will hold a Dedication Ceremony on June 15 at 3:00 PM at the cemetery.
This is our chance to honor a patriot and recognize the sacrifices made at our nation’s founding.
Why We Need You
The City of Willoughby Hills has limited resources and will contribute what it can—but it will not be enough. We are counting on patriots, history lovers, and community members like you to help preserve this important piece of American history.
Donate today to restore dignity to Edward Halstead’s final resting place. All donations are tax deductible.
Be Part of History
Every dollar brings us closer to our goal. Your support will help transform Chardon Road Cemetery into a place of pride, remembrance, and respect.
