Champions For Change Supporting Veterans

Every 80 minutes, a veteran dies by suicide.
Although veterans make up just 7% of our nation’s population, they account for 20% of overall suicides.

My name is Rebecca Chalson, and as the Founder and Executive Director of Brave Connections 501(c)(3), this statistic is not just a number to me it is personal. On June 27, 2022, my brother, Benjamin Josiah Toci, became one of the 6,407 veterans who died by suicide that year.

Ben was more than a number. He was a son, a brother, a friend, and a soldier who gave everything to his country. His loss left a hole that can never be filled—but it also gave me a mission: to ensure fewer families know this kind of pain.

At Brave Connections 501(c)(3), and through our nationwide directory Veteran Concierge™ we are committed to ending veteran suicide by building bridges to hope, support, and resources. But we cannot do it alone.

Your gift, whether in memory of a loved one who has served our country, or of your own initiative, helps us:

  • Provide critical connections to civilian transition support, mental health, and wellness resources for veterans.
  • Contribute towards our nationwide ambassador and veteran support program development.
  • Advocate for mental health awareness and suicide prevention across communities.

Every dollar is a step closer to saving a life. Every donation is a message to veterans that they are not forgotten and that their service and their lives matter.

Please consider supporting this meaningful cause or honoring your loved one’s service by making a contribution today. Together, we can change the statistics. Together, we can save lives.
