Goal

Eddie Fyvie Jiu-Jitsu Academy (EFJJA) has the utmost respect and gratitude for those actively serving in our military, veterans, and active duty and retired first responders. EFJJA is a place where we always welcome and encourage our heroes to train.

The ongoing and growing issue of Veteran & First Responder suicide is heartbreaking and we are raising support and bringing awareness to this vital cause. Since 2018, military veteran suicides have increased to nearly twice the rate of non-veterans. More first responders die by suicide than in the line of duty every year.

Our heroes need our help and support now, in real time. Guardian Revival is an incredible organization that knows exactly how to accomplish this. Through a variety of unique programs, Guardian Revival is infusing direct support into the Veteran & First Responder communities. EFJJA is hosting an academy Open Mat Fundraiser (details below, read before donating) to raise money that will directly support Guardian Revival programming.

Specifically, funds raised by EFJJA will support Guardian Revival's Boots & Paws program. Boots & Paws provides Veterans & First Responders in need with service and companion dogs. Dogs are awarded along with a care package: a full year of food, veterinary coverage, and pet insurance, micro-chipping, professional training sessions, pet essentials, and travel costs for the recipient.

Our goal is to fully fund one complete dog package for $5,000.00. Please help us to exceed this goal! Any funds raised in excess of the goal will go to support the other great programs they have established. Guardian Revival is located in the Hudson Valley, so we’re even more excited to support an organization close by that our local Veteran & First Responder community can benefit from.

100% of proceeds go directly to Guardian Revival: a New York State 501(c)(3) Not-for-Profit organization chartered to provide opportunities, resources, and support at no cost to our active and veteran Guardians.

Any donation amount counts, nothing is too small! Please donate what you can and spread the word. Even if you’re an academy member who cannot attend the event, we encourage you to share this link and donate.

Thank you in advance to anyone outside of our academy who decides to donate to our campaign, we appreciate the encouragement!
