Cellule d’intervention psychothérapeutique d’urgence d’Haïti (CIPUH)

Cellule d'intervention psychothérapeutique d'urgence d'Haïti (CIPUH) is Haiti's emergency mental health response organization, founded by the Association Haïtienne de Psychologie (AHPsy) to make sure that no one facing a psychological crisis in Haiti has to face it alone.

At the center of CIPUH's work is the Haiti Mental Health Crisis Hotline (2919-9000), a free, confidential line answered by trained First Listeners, available to anyone experiencing emotional distress, trauma, or crisis. When you give to CIPUH, you're not funding an idea. You're funding the next phone call.

With a network of trained First Listeners and licensed Mental Health Professionals, CIPUH provides:

  • Crisis Intervention & Psychological First Aid: Immediate emotional stabilization and evidence-informed support during a psychological emergency.
  • Suicide Prevention: Risk assessment, real-time support, and referral to specialized care when it's needed most.
  • Referral Services: Direct connections to psychologists, psychiatrists, hospitals, and social services for ongoing care.
  • Emergency Psychosocial Response: Rapid mental health support during natural disasters, humanitarian crises, and moments of widespread community trauma, when Haiti needs it fastest.

CIPUH's model is simple and deliberate: Listen. Understand. Support. Connect. Every caller is met with confidentiality, compassion, and care grounded in Haitian language and culture, because healing starts with feeling truly heard.

Your gift keeps the line open. It funds the training of a First Listener, the staffing of a hotline shift, the referral that connects someone to the next step of care. In a country where mental health support is too often out of reach, your support makes sure that when someone reaches out, someone is there.
