延續CCDC舞蹈中心 守護創作空間 Donate to CCDC and maintain a space for creativity

Help CCDC continue nurturing new talents

Latest news: CCDC Dance Centre is relocating to Tai Po

CCDC has worked hard throughout this year to secure a new site for the CCDC Dance Centre after its premises in Wong Tai Sin, which has hosted the Centre for 40 years, faced closure due to reconstruction work.

Today, we are delighted to announce some great news! CCDC will be moving its Dance Centre to Tai Po Arts Centre, with an expected opening date in April 2021. The Company’s full-time dancers will be able to rehearse and hold activities in the studios during the day.

During the relocation period, the current Dance Centre located in Wong Tai Sin will continue to offer a variety of dance courses until October 2021. Our office, wardrobe and technical department, which had earlier been relocated from San Po Kong to an industrial building unit in Tsuen Wan, are now all officially open and ready to bring wonderful performances to you, our audience.

Hong Kong’s first full-time professional contemporary dance company becomes “the artistic soul of contemporary Hong Kong”

Every year we:

provide dance courses to over 12,000 students

organize 8,000 creative workshops

give over 1,500 people the chance to enjoy free community performances

stage more than 60 performances

that are seen by audiences numbering more than 50,000

In the 40 years CCDC has been dedicated to dance, we have nurtured diversity, new ideas, and most importantly, we have striven to help each other and all dance lovers. We share and we learn at the CCDC Dance Centre, with schools, communities and overseas. Today, CCDC has become one of the most important centres in Hong Kong for arts and culture.

This year, 2020, we may need to vacate our current premises at the CCDC Dance Centre. We are applying to occupy a new location at a former school in Fo Tan. If successful, the relocation may take place in 2023. So the Company is now eagerly seeking a feasible transition plan. We have not lost our faith in dance.

Your generous contribution will help us survive. We will put your kind donation straight into the relocation or into securing temporary premises until 2023. Your support is crucial to maintaining a space for dance, creativity and for the cultural development of Hong Kong.
