22-year-old Dylan is interested in pursuing a career in teaching, but his passion for sports has always been an important part of his life. Through his exploratory mentorship, Dylan has gained a clearer picture of how these interests could come together in his future. A conversation with Jake, an Ivy League athletics executive, helped Dylan explore the intersection of education and athletics. During another call, Dylan connected with Calvin, a teacher and coach, and learned about his educational background and how he has balanced his passion for teaching with his love of coaching. Throughout his mentorship, Dylan has also developed a close relationship with Rich, a former teacher who has become a true “life mentor” to him. Rich regularly shares insightful advice, encourages Dylan as he pursues his degree, and supports him as he navigates his future. Their video calls are often filled with laughter, stories, and good-natured jabs back and forth, just as friends do. Together, these relationships have given Dylan the opportunity to explore his interests, envision new possibilities, and build a network of mentors who genuinely care about his future.
