At Congregation Beth Hatikvah, we believe that family participation is at the heart of meaningful Jewish education. Our program is designed to nurture curiosity, build community, and create lifelong connections to Judaism. We welcome children and families with diverse learning styles and all levels of Jewish knowledge.

Our Program

We offer three dynamic levels to meet your child’s needs at every stage:

Infants through Pre-K

Parents and children learn together!
Weekly one-hour sessions from October through May.
Enjoy coffee and bagels with other families.
Participate in sensory activities and age-appropriate Jewish art projects.
Program Cost: Free!

Elementary (Ages 5–10)

A hands-on, cooperative learning model.
Two-hour sessions on Sundays.
During the first hour, children and parents work together on a group art project. Rabbi Emily Katcher pulls individual children for personalized Hebrew instruction.
Art and Hebrew instruction are followed by 30 minutes of Tefillah (prayer) time together.
Sessions end with families sharing lunch.
Parents are required to attend with their children.
Program Cost: $18 per session. Congregation Beth Hatikvah never wants cost to be a barrier for religious school participation. Please see the registration section for scholarship information.

Late Elementary through Bar/Bat Mitzvah Preparation (Ages 11+)

Personalized, meaningful mentorship.
Weekly one-on-one Hebrew tutoring with Rabbi Emily Katcher.
Tailored preparation for Bar/Bat Mitzvah ceremonies.
Program Cost: $54 per session.

Year-Round Learning:

During the school year: Biweekly sessions Sundays at 11 AM (except during school holidays).
2025-2026 School Year Calendar will be posted in August 2025.
Weekly religious school runs from October through May
During the summer: Two Sundays a month
