Our beloved Catalina Deer herd is in great danger from the Catalina Conservancy, which has plans to completely eradicate the herd in 2026. We need your help now!

CRPA, SCI, HOWL for Wildlife, Cal Deer, California Bowman/State Archery Association, and Coalition to Save Catalina Island Deer have all joined forces to file a lawsuit to save the deer! In our petition, we allege that the state failed to take the proper steps to exempt the Catalina Conservancy Plan to kill the deer from CEQA requirements and thus violated state law. 

These deer are a herd untouched by many of the diseases of the mainland deer, unique to this island home, and should be protected and properly managed instead of being snuffed out as the next hip thing on the list. CRPA and our partners are actively working to save the deer.
