Goal
The Mary Morton Parsons Foundation has awarded The Montpelier Center for Arts & Education a $50,000 challenge 1:1 matching grant to be met by November 2020.
The funds raised will cover pressing capital needs of The Montpelier Center's historical building, including: replacing the tiles and carpet in entrance hallways and kitchen, replacing the hot water boiler system, replacing the lift system for ballroom windows, pointing up bricks around the exterior of the building, installing auto blind system for upper windows in the ballroom, adding a commercial quality screen & projector for the ballroom, and expanding and fixing our security system.
With these improvements in place, The Montpelier Center will be poised to meet its growing demand for more arts, historical, educational, musical, theater, pre-school, and cultural events and programs in its community.
Sagle Jones Purcell, Chairman of the Board of Directors, shared, “We were thrilled to receive this exciting news and we are very appreciative that we were selected by The Mary Morton Parsons Foundation for a grant. Now we have our work cut out for us. As a private 501(c)3 non-profit organization, The Montpelier Center must raise $50,000 before November of 2020 to match The Mary Morton Parsons Foundation grant.”
Sagle explained, “The Montpelier Center does not receive government funding, so we are asking people throughout our area to please step forward and help us meet this challenge.
“No amount is too small or too large,” Sagle added. “It’s the community support that has built The Montpelier Center over the past 30 years, and it’s all of us pulling together that will propel The Montpelier Center into the next generation of service to our community…where the city meets the country!”
