Goal

CAMPFIRE NEEDS YOU!

What does the future hold for Campout? And for Campfire Convention in its widest context - our online network, smaller gatherings, retreats, Beacons, the Trailblazers initiative, Campfire Radio? Firecasts?

With our tenth anniversary coming next August, we have given birth to some exciting projects and gatherings, introduced many people to new friends and collaborators as well as providing and building an exciting platform and community base full of potential.

Now we need your help. We’ve reached crunch time. If a Campout event is to go ahead next summer to mark our 10th anniversary year, we need to make a decision before Christmas.

We had a firm outline proposal which covered three years from a farm on the edge of Dartmoor. We didn’t have the resources to provide the deposit needed nor the funds to sustain such an event.

Now we have another exciting venue option on the table. In order to move forward, we would need some key requirements in place, in particular relating to funding and crew. These are detailed in my post in our ‘Campfire Team’ Circle on our Mighty Network, which you can apply to join if you are not already a member.

If you’d like to be actively involved in Campout’s future, and with it a way forward for Campfire in its widest sense, now’s the time to step forward.

Two of our most exciting projects are Campfire Beacons and Trailblazers.

Our intention is to co-create and evolve our Trailblazers Manifesto — a living document of shared values and practical next steps. Through workshops at our events, pilot projects, and fireside conversations, we’ll explore how to activate local Beacons, experiment with cooperative initiatives, and imagine new ways of organising ourselves beyond outdated systems.

Beacons are our local organising groups, each rooted in the Trailblazer / Campfire ethos and values, yet free to shape their own local agendas, activities, and intentions.

Symbolic Beacons might be lit at solstices, equinoxes, and other natural milestones, synchronising our communities with universal rhythms. Each lighting is an act of intention — a spark for connection, liberation, and harmony.

Help us keep this momentum going so we can create a community and event fit for the times.

We are co-creating member-led online and real-life social networking.  Your gift is truly valued and makes a difference.
