Goal
Dear Family, Friends, Colleagues, and Supporters,
When Charley Flint and I co-founded the Center for the Study of White American Culture 28 years ago, our mission was clear: to thrust discussions on whiteness into the forefront of societal dialogue.
Our journey evolved into a powerful force for change, centered on decentering whiteness and fostering multiracial community. Despite initial skepticism, these ideas have gained traction in anti-racist circles, contributing to a broader discourse on race in the United States.
Yet, our work is only halfway done. We must elevate the concept of multiracial community, firmly grounded in justice. Despite the U.S.'s history of multiracial composition, we lack substantial experience in placing the idea of multiracial community at the forefront of our collective identity.
Our nation stands at a crossroads, torn between those clinging to centered whiteness and those, like CSWAC, striving to center multiracialness. This is the defining challenge of our era, and CSWAC is at the forefront of this transformative work.
To continue our mission, we need your support. Institutional funders may struggle to grasp our vision and approach, making your individual contributions crucial.
Today, be a catalyst for change. Your donation will fuel the pursuit of a truly multiracial society, where unity transcends racial divides and is firmly founded in racial justice.
Donate now and stand with CSWAC as we lead the charge for a more inclusive and equitable future.
With gratitude,
Jeff Hitchcock, Co-founder
