Goal

COVID-19's impact on the global supply chain has turned thousands of Southeast Asian families' lives upside down. A few weeks back, the Garment Manufacturers Association in Cambodia reported that 180 factories had suspended their operations, resulting in 150,000 lay-offs made with no advance notice.

As a result, thousands of garment workers are forced to choose between a mask or food for their families. Most of these workers have no savings accounts, as they depend solely on monthly wages.

In Cambodia, a country ranked third in the world for human trafficking, the rising unemployment rates are even more alarming as these workers and their children are pushed further beneath the poverty line and made more susceptible to traffickers' lures.

The economic slowdown also takes a toll on the thousands of Cambodian migrants returning home from Thailand after losing their factory jobs. Since government funding for migrant populations, survivors, and those at risk has been reallocated to the COVID-19 response, migrant families are left with no financial support to navigate the crisis. Many of them can barely afford food, let alone testing and treatment if they were to catch the virus.

But thankfully, you can be a part of the solution!

Help us raise $45,000 to provide food, rental fees, healthcare, and job creation programs for garment workers impacted by global supply chain shutdown!
