Dr. Curtis H. Thomas, Jr. established this donor designated fund in honor of his father who helped him get through many years of school. C. Hampton “Hamp” Thomas and his family lived in Sophia where he served on the town council and later as mayor. He died in 1989. The income is to be used to benefit the town of Sophia for beautification efforts or other projects. Dr. Thomas died in May, 2015. The Sophia City Council makes annual recommendations as to how the income shall be spent.
