Buncombe County: Kim Single Mother of 2
Kim was referred to us by Reynolds Baptist Church. Currently unemployed, she has encountered significant hardships, including the loss of the ability to safely reside in her home due to electrical damage. Despite these challenges, she remains a dedicated volunteer at the church. Currently, Kim is living in a hotel, relying on stipends provided by FEMA; however, these benefits are set to expire in the first week of December. To enable her return home, essential electrical work is required to ensure a safe living environment, and six fallen trees on the property must also be removed.
Kim is a single mother of two children. Her son, 17, and daughter, 14, both have Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum. Additionally, her son is unable to walk due to pain resulting from a past leg surgery, necessitating that Kim carry him into the house due to the lack of a wheelchair ramp.
I will update the list of needs for the children as they become available.
The immediate requirements are electrical repairs to the home and the installation of a wheelchair ramp.
