Your donation in any amount helps to create this fantastic work of art in Mendota, IL. Created by artist Ray Paseka, the "Mendota Gold" is sixty-eight feet tall and twenty feet wide. The fundraising goal will be reached by large and small donations from this community, that is so closely associated with the crop that grows in the fields which surround it. This work will be #2 on the Silo Pathways /Countryside Public Art Tour, the tourism attraction being developed by our regional arts non-profit, North Central Illinois ARTworks. It is the first of what we hope will be many examples of art on silos and other agricultural structures throughout the region of La Salle, Bureau and Putnam Counties in Illinois. Combined with murals and other types of significant public art installations the tour is meant to encourage visitors to explore our region and to enrich our community through arts space development. Thank you for your support.
