Goal
Help Us Build More Than a Gym, Help Us Build Strength, Confidence and Hope at The Old Church
At IFYS, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to feel safe, valued and capable of building a positive future.
For the young people living at The Old Church, life has often been anything but easy. Many have experienced trauma, homelessness, family breakdown, mental health challenges, or significant instability before arriving at this supportive accommodation program. The Old Church is more than just a roof over their heads, it is a place of healing, connection and new beginnings.
Now, together with Alex Rotary, we are raising funds to build a dedicated gym and wellbeing space that will provide young people with a healthy outlet to strengthen both body and mind.
Why a Gym Matters
Exercise is proven to improve mental health, reduce anxiety and depression, build confidence and create positive routines. For young people recovering from trauma or navigating difficult life circumstances, movement and physical wellbeing can play a powerful role in rebuilding self-esteem and resilience.
This new gym space will:
· Provide a safe and positive outlet for stress and emotions
· Support physical and mental wellbeing
· Encourage healthy routines and discipline
· Create opportunities for connection, mentoring and personal growth
· Build confidence and self-worth
· Give young people a sense of pride in their environment
Most importantly, it will create a space where young people can focus on their future rather than their past.
Your Support Makes a Difference
Every donation, big or small, will help bring this vision to life. From gym flooring and fitness equipment to wellbeing resources, your contribution will directly support young people living at The Old Church.
Together, we can help create a space that inspires strength, hope and possibility.
Because sometimes, the greatest transformation starts with simply believing in a young person and giving them the tools to thrive.
Please donate today and help us build a stronger future for young people at The Old Church.
