Goal
April is a month of remembrance.
Nverouhi is a single mother of four who built her home in Artsakh with her own hands, stone by stone. The home was a symbol of her independence, after her ex-husband and father of her children left her and the family with no support.
When the Artsakh war broke out in September 2020, she packed one piece of clothing per child and fled with her kids, the youngest just one year old, leaving the home she built and everything in it.
Today, she lives in Draxtik, Armenia, farming the land to make ends meet, taking English and accounting classes in the hopes of securing a well-paying job, and doing everything she can to build a brighter future for her kids. Her home, which was purchased with a government aid coupon, is in need of renovation— it is heated with a wood stove she manages herself. Critically, her bathroom is outdated, incomplete and poorly functioning.
She says, “I want my children to take an example from me. Life was very hard for them. I want to give them everything I can so they do not feel shame or difficulty in this life.”

We are raising $2,500 to renovate Nverouhi’s bathroom. By funding this renovation, you can help improve her family’s quality of life, increasing comfort and stability while also adding property value to their home.
Every dollar raised through the month of April will be matched up to $5,000 by Sarkissian Law Group, making your donation worth twice as much.
